Closet Radio Episode 015: The Small House Halfway Up In The Next Block *Special Presentation*

Closet Radio

A Closet Radio tribute to one of the best Old Time Radio shows and, dare I say, funniest comedies of all time!

Vic and Sade broadcast via radio from 1932 to 1946 and also on television in 1949 and 1957, respectively. It was quite popular in it’s day and after even one listen, falling in love with this show is nearly impossible to resist. Creator Paul Rhymer was a true comical genius and radio legend. He wrote each and every episode of this daily series without once dropping the ball on quality. Personally, I have listened to a number of episodes multiple times and still crack up each time.

A great deal of thanks to Vicandsade.net for archiving tons of Vic and Sade episodes along with providing historical information for the enjoyment of generations to come. Also to Hogwash for pressing the buttons in the studio. Without them, this episode would not have been possible.

Unfortunately, there was no archived recording of this episode due to server issues at KPSU, but here is the playlist.

1) “Parade of Interruptions” (1945) – Vic & Sade

2) “No More Pretty Boy” (1944) – Vic & Sade

3) “Vic And Russell Fix Their Own Dinner” (1944) – Vic & Sade

4) “Prettiest Eye Contest” (1944) – Vic & Sade

5) “Sade Pleads To See A Movie” (1944) – Vic & Sade

6) “Mr. Chinbunny Wants To Smoke Cigars” (1944) – Vic & Sade
